RE: House Bill 1042
I was present for several of the debates on revising firearms law, and impressed with your position and education.
However, as a professionally published author of 8 novels (http://michaelzwilliamson.com/bibliography.php), three of them with sex scenes, the above rape of my first amendment rights, and that of booksellers, makes it highly unlikely I will vote for you again in the next election.
It's possible I'm grossly misunderstanding this law, since the press is notorious for errors. However, I hold my First Amendment rights as dearly as the Second, and if the above story is correct, you have lost my vote and can never recover it.

Sent to the paper:
I have novels and short fiction published by Penguin Putnam, HarperCollins and Simon and Schuster. Three of my novels meet the vague standards above, and Barnes and Noble and Waldenbooks are now in the position of having to pay this unconstitutional "license" to do business, if they continue to sell my books. The small, local bookstores who are already running close to margin could be in the position of going bankrupt.
I'm also an immigrant and a 23 year veteran. It's hard to believe I served my adopted nation to see this crap passed into law.
Daniels, my local Senator Waltz, and the rest, are either utter idiots or utter fascists. Either way, they are all now on the "Do not vote for" list, and there is nothing they can ever do to get off it. I swore an oath to protect America, and I do not vote for traitors to America.
I'm also putting them on notice that in the spirit of fairness, I expect every religious bookstore to be registered or punished. Most major religious texts would be considered "pornography" by these vague standards. Certainly the Bible, Torah and Quran would.
Registration of sellers of literature is like registration of firearms, religion, race or creed. It is outrageous, it is unconstitutional, it is obscene and it is treason.
I also wrote the bill's initiator, firstname.lastname@example.org DEMOCRAT Terry Goodin, and recommended he resign in disgrace.
